On June 25, 2026, the Adobe Commerce and Magento ecosystem gathered in Paris for the second edition of Meet Magento France. In fact, as a Gold Sponsor, the ElasticSuite team was on the ground to talk with the community.

Our team listened to the technical sessions. We talked to merchants. Ultimately, we looked closely at where the market is actually heading. Through our team’s eyes, here are the four key takeaways you need to know from the event.

1. Magento isn’t being judged on its own anymore

Ecommerce platforms are no longer evaluated in a vacuum. Instead, this year, almost every technical session was really talking about coordination: ERP, PIM, pricing, Hyvรค, and B2B rights.

For instance, merchants showed how Magento fits into a broader, complex architecture:

  •   WeConnect showed how to keep B2B pricing reliable across ERP, PIM and Magento.
  •   Besson Chaussures talked through a best-of-breed architecture.
  •   Somfy presented Adobe Commerce Cloud combined with Hyvรค.

The question isn’t “does Magento get the job done” anymore. Rather, it is whether it can orchestrate a bigger system without breaking it.

2. “Performance” doesn’t mean what it used to

There was a pure technical performance session on the agenda, focusing on getting the Time to First Byte under 150ms with no cache. However, looking at the program as a whole, the word covers a lot more. Specifically, real performance now means product data quality, pricing reliability, catalog visibility, and product discovery.

The Shift in Performance Metrics

Focus Area Yesterday’s Standard Today’s Reality
Technical Speed TTFB & Server Response Core Web Vitals & Frontend UX (Hyvรค)
Product Access Basic Category Grids Dynamic Searchandising & Typo Tolerance
Data Reliability Daily Cron Syncs Real-time ERP/PIM API Orchestration

A stack can be incredibly fast and still underperform. Consequently, if products do not surface properly or business rules break the experience, server speed does not matter.

3. AI is showing up through operations, not spectacle

AI was everywhere in the program. Topics included European sovereignty, agentic commerce on the Adobe side, Hyvรค agents, decision copilots, and code verification.

Yet, what stands out is where it is actually landing: decision support, targeted automation, and help for small teams.

The teams getting real value out of AI will not be the ones talking about it the loudest. Instead, they will be the ones building it into actual workflows, with good data and real measurement discipline.

Romain Ruaud, our founder, gave a talk on 50 years of search history. He covered early information retrieval research up to where we are today.

After his talk, people came by the booth to dig deeper. Specifically, they did not just want to talk about search evolution. Furthermore, they wanted to discuss searchandising, product data, and catalog visibility.

Here is the reality of product discovery today:

  •   A customer searches.
  •   Then, they type a few words.
  •   Perhaps, they type the wrong ones.

What follows decides everything: attention, trust, conversion, and revenue. Therefore, ElasticSuite helps teams get that moment right with relevant results and smarter merchandising.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Meet Magento France?
Meet Magento France is the premier event for the French-speaking ecommerce community centered around Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source. Additionally, it gathers merchants, developers, and technology partners to share insights on the latest ecommerce trends and technical architectures.

What is product discovery in ecommerce?
Product discovery is the entire journey a shopper takes to find products on your storefront. For example, it includes the search bar, category navigation, dynamic filtering, and product recommendations. Good product discovery surfaces the exact items a user wants while respecting the merchant’s business goals.

Why is searchandising important for Magento stores?
Searchandising combines site search and visual merchandising. Specifically, it allows ecommerce teams to actively control how products rank in search results and category pages. Instead of relying on a black-box algorithm, merchants can push high-margin items, clear stock, or boost specific brands based on real-time business rules.

How does ElasticSuite improve Magento?
ElasticSuite is a powerful open-source search and merchandising engine built for Magento and Adobe Commerce. Moreover, it replaces the native search to provide typo tolerance, semantic matching, and a visual interface that lets merchandising teams easily control product visibility without developer help.
